Journal #001

Welcome to my first journal entry. It’s an opportunity for me to share a little insight into my journey as a music producer and DJ. It includes a little insight into the fresh finds I have discovered for my weekly new music DJ sets, as well as my own original music.

NEW MUSIC DISCOVERY

We’ve shifted gears into a new format for the weekly sets. The first three weeks of every month are sets that feature 5-6 tracks, all new discoveries in the melodic and progressive house space. I’ll continue to scour the bins for new releases from my favorite artists as well as new artists to feature each week. For New Music 051, two particular call-outs: a great new release from Michael Cassette, a track that somehow feels new and old all at once. I can’t help but hear “Blame it on the Rain” in the melody. Maybe a remix to consider?! And I’m featuring Lynnic again this week. I’ve recently come upon their music thanks to YouTube algorithm. It’s that warm, vibey melodic house that really gets to my core; definitely in the vein of original Nils Hoffman and peak Ben Böhmer. Check it out on YouTube. The full set list is here:

Let Me In — MYRNE, ALLKNIGHT

Mountain Dew — Michael Cassette

I Was There — Beacon, Helsloot

Feeling Good — Fahlberg

Where Distance Fades — Lynnic

ALBUM UPDATE: “The Vicissitudes”

Just a shout out to everyone who has listened to the album. For a first outing, I couldn’t be more proud. We’ve surpassed well over 1,000 streams across Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, and the momentum continues to grow. You find it on all streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube. The three songs that seem to be powering the plays are:

Aletheia [Spotify | Apple Music]

Fight for Love [Spotify | Apple Music]

Tell Me Goodbye [Spotify | Apple Music]

with Perpetuum Automata and Feels So Close, coming in close behind.

In the hopes of getting the album out to the largest audience possible, I’ve finally given in to starting a Tik Tok. The caveat, my daughter is running it, so be sure to check it out if you want some BTS and some good humor (and embarrassment)!

UPCOMING EVENTS

I am very excited to play a morning set at one of my favorite local coffee shops and performance venues, Alkemy Coffee Co. Not only are the coffee and pastries top-notch, the overall location (the old Stangl Factory) and vibe is excellent!

Morning Light DJ Set Sunday, June 17th, 2026 | 10:00-11:30am | No Entry Fee, Tips Welcomed [Learn More]

Additionally, my monthly sunset residency at BlackShed will begin again on Friday, June 5th, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Stay tuned for details.

NEW MUSIC

I’m continuing to work on new music. I have at least five new tracks mix and mastered, including two tracks that include vocals by my friend and collaborator, Michael Coco. Additionally, I have a new single forthcoming that celebrates the recent Artemis II journey around the moon. I’m excited for this one!
